Mellon Jr. High
Jr. High (7th & 8th grades for the Class of '62) in Mt. Lebanon was a place and time where grade schools came together for the 1st time and classmates experienced new boy/girl relationships, slam books, tea dances, the beginnings of the golden age of rock 'n' roll, 45 rpm records, saddle shoes, names on back of jackets, belts fastened or unfastened (steady or not going steady) on the back of pants, Weejun penny loafers, Capezio flats, bobby sox and sports at the next competitive level as everyone tried to find their place in a sea of new acquaintances. Photos from Mellon Jr. High's Mellonaire at the end of 8th grade, 1956, makeup this album, along with 2 football action shots from 7th grade.
