1944-08-14 2009-01-07Barbara Ullmann DinsmoreBarbara Lee Ullmann Dinsmore of Wexford, passed away on Wednesday, January 7,2009. Mrs.Dinsmore was born in Mt.Lebanon on August 14,1944 to Homer and Hilda Ullmann of Pittsburgh. She is survived by her husband, Grant, who is a retired professor of Graphics, Communication and Design at LaRoche College and four sisters, Linda Vais of SanFrancisco, CA, Janice Stankus of Albany,NY, Natalie Ullmann ofJersey City, NJ and Victoria Ullmann, Esq .of Columbus,OH. She was a graduate of Mt.Lebanon High School and of Syracuse University, from which she received an BFA in Advertising Design in 1966. She specialized in magazine production,working in New York and Pittsburgh at such magazines as "Brides," "Carnegie," "Executive Report,"and "Managing." In the 1985-6, she was the designer for the Lehman Company's Warner Centre Premiere Restaurant development in downtown Pittsburgh. She was associated wtth the Frick Art and History Center from 1990-1992. To pursue an interest in museum work and archival preservation, Mrs.Dinsmore attended Duquesne University for a Master's Degree in Archival, Museum and Editing Studies, graduating in 1996. She subsequently specialized in producing manuscripts of local oral history. Mrs.Dinsmore's interest in spiritual matters led her to visit India twice. In the North Hills, she presented lectures and developed workshops in various phases of mental development.Send condolences at post-gazette.com/gb
