
Lewis C. "Kip" Weldon

Lewis C. Kip Weldon was born on 11/4/1944 in Pittsburgh, PA
After graduating DePauw University in Indiana he went to California
and worked in the social work field. He stayed in California for several
years but then relocated to New York where he was a social worker for
a drug clinic in the Bronx and then at a nursing home. In 1974, he took a
job again in social work center in Queens, N.Y. He met his future wife
there: Aviva, who was a recreation and art therapist. They married in
1975 and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. Their son, Daniel was born in 1980
followed by Julia in 1983.
Kip transitioned out of the social work field into sales shortly after
Daniel was born. He spent over 30 years as a Chartered Financial
Consultant and Life Insurance Agent for New England Life and then
Mass Mutual.
Kip continued his love for singing throughout his life and spent many
years singing with The NJ Choral Society; a ninety voice choir. He sang
until the end of his life.
He was active on many charity boards and loved running, swimming,
playing squash, kayaking and most of all his family.
Kip died on 11/18/19, after a 16-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
